Storskräll för ”Hamilton”

Den utsålda musikalen ”Hamilton” tog hem flest vinster, med hela elva priser för bland annat bästa musikal, skådespelare, regi och musik.

Musikens skapare Lin-Manuel Miranda uppmärksammade Orlando-attentatet och dess offer i sitt tacktal, som bland annat innehöll en sonett. — Känslokalla handlingar påminner oss om att inte ta någonting för givet – inte en enda dag.

Galan blev också historisk när priserna för bästa skådespelare i musikal gick till fyra svarta skådespelare, skriver The Hollywood Reporter. Tonypriserna har delats ut sedan 1947. Årets gala hölls på Beacon Theatre i New York.

The LION KING & ALADDIN Broadway Casts Airport Sing-Off

It seems the casts of Broadway’s Lion King and Aladdin got bored at LaGuardia Airport, after their flight to Orlando was delayed six hours, so they made the best use of their time with an all-out sing-off. Hakuna matata.The group sang classics from both shows, including ”Circle of Life” and ”Arabian Nights.”
